Two Rivers Romance Authors (TRRA) writing group of Des Moines, Iowa is a member of the Romance Writers of America (RWA). It meets the 3rd Saturday of each month, January to November.
December is our awards banquet at a wonderful local restaurant.
The 2nd Monday of each month is a critique group.
TRRA is not just for authors but writers of various genres.

Be looking for Birdie Hawks first novel, No Regrets, No Doubts to hit selves this year.
Birdie is in a 500 word a day contest with members of the writing group (TRRA) she belong to with her 3rd manuscript (yet unnamed). She did hold 2nd place a couple times but has slipped but is determined to catch up and surpass her writing sisters. She also plans to be travel north east for research this summer.
Her writing sisters and brother are subperb writers and will be and/or are published authors. They love writing and it shows in their work.
I will be listing several of TRRA members books at a later date.

Birdie is woman, hear her roar!
Novelist, Annette J. DeFoe (AJ) is a member of the Romance Writers of America and Two Rivers Romance Authors group, Des Moines, Iowa.
She is a married 59 year old with two stepsons and almost 9 grandchildren, two wanna be’s and a great grandbaby under construction. AJ was born and raised in Iowa to a middle class family of 5. She had two older brothers who ensured she’d be a tomboy. She grew up fishing, swimming, target practicing and even shot a rabbit (once). Being too much of an animal lover she never hunted again but hiked the woods enjoying nature. Horse back rode, played softball, bowled, going to baseball and football games and enjoys riding motorcycles.
In the late 70′s she joined the Iowa Army National Guard and in the early 80′s became a Federal technician with them. In the early 90′s, served 6 years as a reserve Police officer.
After 24 years she retired from the Guard, taking a couple years off work. After which, she got a part-time admin/clerical job. During her 3-year tenure, she mentally began a journey into the world of writing.
Her love is writing. Her favorite thing to do is write. She has 1 completed ms (manuscript), No Regrets, No Doubts; a 2nd ms in the works and the 3rd pictured in her thoughts; several more are cruising through her mind as we speak.
